Out of Lockdown 2021

After rehearsing on Zoom for 2 terms we met to sing together (socially distanced) on 18th May in the Mechanics Institute. However, the guidance published that day appeared not to allow this, so our remaining practises in the summer were in Sue Peacock’s garden, with lovely views.

Wensleydale Tournament of Song 2017

The Adjudicator’s comments are a bit hard to read but this is what he said:

  • Rolling Down To Rio
This was a lively and stylish opening to your programme. The choral attack has punch and drive. Diction was impeccable.
  • Can you feel the Love Tonight
Great Mac Huff arrangement (with super solo!) a very suitable contrast. Here you need to pay much more attention to blend and balance ,the latter was fine but there were a few intrusive voices in the louder passages. The inevitable American key change was well handled.

Northallerton Male Voice choir won the competition with 87 marks; but look carefully at our mark: originally we had 86 but that was sadly altered to 85, not bad for a first attempt!
