Have you’ve ever thought you might like to sing in a choir, but not been sure what it is like, or whether you are up to it? Come to the Mechanics for a taster session on Saturday 24 February.
We will be looking at songs from Oliver!
ALL WELCOME
The Highside Singers is a community choir based in Kirkby Malzeard: rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm from September to June in the Mechanics Institute (before Covid we were in the Methodist Chapel).The choir perform about 6 concerts every year in local village halls, churches and chapels.The singers enjoy learning and performing a wide range of music from Elgar and John Rutter to The Beatles and Abba .Over the years the choir has raised many thousands of pounds for various charities.
The musical director is Keith Dale, currently Organist and Director of Music at St John the Baptist church in Newcastle. Under Keith’s leadership and inspiring tuition the choir has gone from strength to strength ably supported by our accompanist Diana Critchley.
